Speaker Bios:

Lorraine Heggessey was the first woman to be controller of BBC 1 overseeing a comprehensive revamp of the channel and leading it to become the most popular channel in Britain. She introduced flagship shows like Strictly Come Dancing and the new Dr Who, lured Graham Norton away from Channel 4 and launched many long-running drama series such as Spooks and Waking the Dead. She left the BBC to take over as CEO of TalkbackThames (now FremantleMedia UK) where under her creative leadership the company launched many hit entertainment shows including Britain’s Got Talent, Take me Out and Celebrity Juice.

Lorraine’s varied career has meant she is no stranger to controversy, she recently spoke out publicly about Russel Brand and Greg Wallace. Lorraine continues as an external advisor to Channel 4’s Growth Fund and she is also the Chair of the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith and the Grierson Trust.

Angellica Bell has been a television and radio broadcaster for over two decades and has emerged as a significant presenter of adult factual and entertainment programmes in the UK. Angellica’s career started at the BBC in 2000 when she became the face of Children’s BBC until 2007 and was twice nominated for Best Presenter at the Children’s Baftas. During her time as a children’s TV presenter, she worked on popular shows such as Short Change, 50/50 and The Saturday Show. Since then, she is known for co-presenting The One Show (BBC1) and the Bafta-nominated financial programme, The Martin Lewis Money Show (ITV). IN 2017 she won Celebrity MasterChef (BBC1) and now hosts a weekly Breakfast Show on Magic Radio.

Carlotta Rossi Spencer serves as Head of Branded Entertainment Business Development for Banijay Entertainment, overseeing the company’s division BBE (Banijay Branded Entertainment). Housed centrally within Banijay Entertainment, BBE leverages the group’s expansive global production expertise to deliver against brand briefs both at a local and global level. Working across the company’s 21-territory footprint, Carlotta is charged with overseeing the delivery and fulfilment of new partnerships and deals in this space to drive maximum value for the business worldwide. Carlotta is also co-chair of Banijay Elle, Banijay Entertainment’s employee resource group committed to attracting, retaining, supporting and championing women at all levels. Previously she served as Head of Format Acquisitions for the company and was responsible for acquiring unscripted formats with cross-country appeal for Banijay Entertainment’s 130+ production entities. Leading the process from industry analysis to negotiation and completion, she established strong relationships worldwide, making Banijay Entertainment a top destination and go-to for content developers, distributors, and brand managers alike. As part of the role, she also assisted the in-footprint production labels with the local roll-out of all formats acquired, as well as Temptation Island. She has also held several roles in research and development, having begun her career in journalism and communications.

Nadine Marsh Edwards is an Emmy nominated, BAFTA and RTS award-winning film and television producer and alongside Amanda Jenks is co – founder of Greenacre Films, a female led independent production company. She has a long-standing commitment to making change happen in the Film and TV industry, both in front of and behind the camera, by providing primetime space for distinctive and diverse voices to be heard and seen. She is a recent recipient of the WFTV Contribution to the Medium Award. Nadine Exec-produced Riches, a six-part drama series for ITV/Amazon, Unsaid Stories for ITV and documentaries for the BBC, she also produced Joe All Alone for CBBC.

Her feature film credits include Been So Long on Netflix starring Michaela Coel and BAFTA nominated Bhaji On The Beach directed by Gurinder Chadha.

Hosted by Ria Hebden a Television presenter and Founder /CEO of Wonder Women CIC. Among her on-screen accolades, Ria has presented Entertainment for Lorraine on ITV, covered the King’s Coronation for Good Morning America, co-presented All Around Britain on ITV, fronted Sunday Morning Live on BBC One and hosted the BAFTA Film Awards red-carpet coverage for BritBox America. Ria’s interviewed multiple A-List talent including Harrison Ford, Idris Elba, Robbie Williams, Kim Cattrall, Shania Twain and John Boyega. As a celebrity contestant, Ria has raised £130K for charity on Celebrity Chase, Celebrity Catchphrase and Celebrity Mastermind. Ria was also a contestant on ITV’s Dancing on Ice and is a seasoned events host and moderator for film premieres and industry awards for Disney, Bafta, ScreenSkills, Netflix, Amazon and PromaxUK.
