
“Get ready to experience the heart and soul of Meltdown 2024, where the magic of music meets the warmth of community,” so says legendary singer and musician Ms Chaka Khan as she takes over the curatorship of The Southbank Centre’s Music Meltdown Festival, 2024.
Destined to take place between Friday 14 June -Sunday 23 June 2024, the iconic singer will bring her blend of fabulousness to the 10 day annual summer festival. Known for such seminal hits as ‘I’m Every Woman’ and ‘Ain’t Nobody’ with the funk band Rufus, this 10 times GRAMMY award winning artist, will surely delight audiences with her select choice of artists.
Commenting about the festival, Ms Khan says,” I’m beyond excited to be a part of this legacy, bringing everyone together, young and old, for a summer celebration like no other. This festival isn’t just about music, it’s a feast for all your senses, a gathering of hearts and souls. “
The Meltdown Festival will coincide with Ms Khan’s 50 year celebration of a pioneering career in music. Khan worked with some of the most influential artists including: Prince, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige, Dizzy Gillespie, Quincy Jones, and Miles Davis.
The names for Chaka Khan’s Meltdown Festival will be revealed in March. Already, there is much anticipation for what promises to be the summer’s hottest tickets.
