Untold Stories Of Black People In Kent

As part of the Black History Live project, the Medway African and Caribbean Association (MACA) are hosting ‘Untold Stories’ exhibition at the Historic Chatham Dockyard in Medway, Kent. The exhibition is a culmination of a two year research project to unearth the stories of African and Caribbean people who lived in Kent in past years. On the same platform as well known figures such as the writer and abolitionist Olaudah Equiano, less known figures such as William Cuffay, the social activist and Walter Tull, footballer and First World War Hero (below) , are now enjoying the spotlight in terms of their contribution to life in Kent and Britain. The exhibition is opened until 2 December 2018.
