Africa Fashion Week London 2023 (AFWL), presented a wonderful showcase of the latest fashion, design and exhibitions from African creatives from all over the world. Now in its 13th year and at the brand new venue of the prestigious Institute of Directors in Pall Mall, London, the event offered its usual display of colour, creativity and vibrancy.
The largest and longest running global showcase of African and African inspired fashion and design, this year’s programme included a UK Africa Trade Expo for Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises with the keynote speaker from Nigeria, His Majesty, King Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife.
Other features consisted of a performance from The Michael Kiladeji project featuring Grace Boyega amongst others. In line with Black History Month a special gala night was held in celebration of the AFWL Black History and Lifetime Awards.
The focal point of any AFWL event, is always the designs either on the catwalk or exhibitions. So here are the highlights from 2023.
